Ovadia & Sons Fall/Winter 2013
Ariel and Shimon Ovadia‘sability to make old-world tailoring look modern is maybe their greatest achievement. The latest Ovadia & Sons collection regains the playfulness and elegance of the early collections. Denim dress shirts, large trouser cuffs, slim pants, wool and flannel are just what you want to be wearing. The spread collar turns out to be pretty cool and rigorous at the same time. Twists lie in the accessories : wild patterned ties, pocket squares, single monks with side buckle, navy cargo pants… It’s more than a fine collection ! Read the rest of this entry »
Charbonize Minimalist Cases | iPad, iPad Mini & iPhone 5
We introduced Charbonize brand a while ago as HME was just starting. What I particularly like about Charbonize is the minimalist black designs and finitions of their products and the strong concept behind it! Not every gadget accessories brands already offer iPad mini cases or even iPhone 5 cases, while Charbonize quickly came up with some pretty cool recycled-wool sleeve that easily fit your new iPad mini (even with the SmartCover). See more pics after the jump and check out the website!
De Fursac x Lanificio Cerruti Exclusive Wools
De Fursac kindly invited us to Biella, Italy last week to visit the Lanificio Fratelli Cerruti with whom they have a close relationship since the meeting of two industry stars : Edmond Cohen and Nino Cerruti. As we presented you yesterday a factory tour of the Lanificio Fratelli Cerruti, we want to share with you our personal impressions through a look at the Lanificio Cerruti archives and explain how to buy a fine quality suit with the example of De Fursac.
As part of their partnership with De Fursac, the Cerruti textile mills have for the first time developed fabrics of exceptional quality (Super 130, Super 150 and Turbo 180) exclusively for one brand, providing De Fursac with some of the most exquisite fabrics in the world. Just to give you an idea, Lanificio Cerruti has been creating fabrics for the likes of Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior… so you’d guess it’s a good point for De Fursac to source there.

Winter Ties Selection : Tweed, Wool, and Cashmere
Hype Means Everything presents the 2011 Fall/Winter Tie Draft. We select the best looking ties that would help reinforce your wardrobe. I take advantage of this post to remind all of you that ties aren’t optional when going to work suited up. The knot should be fastened and the top button of your shirt should be closed. That beeing said, let’s talk about some options for this season. The tie of choice is a knit wool tie. Get a blue one from Drakes, Ralph Lauren, Charvet, Brooks Brothers or even boot makers Church’s. Uniqlo sometimes have pretty good ones too. Second option is a tweed heavyweight wool tie in rich autumnal shades. Perfect with a wool blazer and brogues for a refined style. Last piece to get your hands on is a paisley-printed wool tie in dark rich autumnal colors. That takes any suit to the next level. Very M&A. Very “man who gives a damn”. Check some looks after the break ! Read the rest of this entry »

Lusting After : Ralph Lauren Purple Label Drake Double Breasted Suit
To me, Ralph Lauren Purple Label suits are the suits of choice for power-dressing. There’s no other label that precisely says “I have the best suit in the room“. You can’t go wrong with Purple Label. Especially with that double-breasted fully canvassed grey wool suit. Classically cut, the canvassed, slim-fit jacket means the wool retains a ‘memory’ of a body’s shape and moulds around it with every wear for exceptional fit. I tried it on yesterday and I can say there is nothing more comfortable. Even my pyjamas aren’t as easy-to-wear. No kidding. The top-end line from Ralph Lauren, Purple Label focuses on exquisite tailoring: over 30 hours of hand stitching goes into making the jacket alone. That explains everything, including the price. Mr Porter has it.
