A really nice video documentary on Tom Ford‘s vision of style and work ethic. The video highlights the world-renowned fashion designer and film director Tom Ford and brings to light Ford’s every day happenings, as to let you into the otherwise closed quarters of his rather particular lifestyle. While most people think of the Texas native in regards to his overwhelming impact on the fashion industry, there is much more than meets the eye with the well-versed creative. He is also a well-respected Oscar nominated film director whose talents expand far beyond simply building an unmistakable fashion empire. Native Son has quite a reputation for presenting its collections with short films rather than the usual lookbook treatment. Here is Fall/Winter 2012 directed by Niclas Gillis. The fashion film is inspired by the writings of 18th century philosopher Emmanuel Kant, who writes that the motto of enlightenment is “Sapere Aude”, or, “Dare to be wise”. For those who don’t know this place, Aïsso & Co is an amazing vintage concept store hidden in the Saint Honoré area (32 Rue Saint-Roch 75001 Paris). Over the two floors of their boutique, Enda and Riadh (the two founders) select a panel of timeless and vintage ready-to-wear items for men and women, and showcase their own brand Aïsso & Co. The place is renown among the connoisseurs for their choices of retro Barbour parkas, rare double-breasted jackets or even the tassel loafers shoes!
