You certainly have noticed that the new wave of US rappers pay much attention to their refined style. To quote but few significant examples I’d say Kanye West, Kid Cudi or even Bobby Ray. They finally got rid of their baggy pants to put on some skinny pair of jeans or preppy chinos.

There it is. Rising star Theophilus London’s opus.  He is obviously one of my favorite singers at the moment. A new martian to embrace. After I had been utterly flabbergasted a few years ago by his genius (noticeably by “Humdrum Town” or “Day One Fans” from This Charming Mixtape – 2009), I utterly fell in love with his new album which brings out a genre-bending approach. This album masterfully passes rap, pop and soul through Theophilus’ electro shaker. Brillant.
