My worse nightmare is to get a drop of rain on my pair of John Lobb William. But with autumn and worse, winter, on their way, I’m becoming paranoiac and I don’t wear much of my shoe collection. However, I am wondering if this pair of John Lobb City III could be the solution to all my fears. Indeed, it has a rubber sole and metal eyelets but keeps the legendary 7000 last that I love. Besides, I digg the black grained leather!

Alexander Wang‘s cool urban aesthetic with these sleek monochrome wedges. Crafted from snake-effect leather, this structured pair is the perfect way to introduce texture and pattern to your look. Style them with a streamlined LBD and a neon clutch for a graphic finish. Or wear them with nothing else because shoes like those make a sufficient statement already. The shape is just so beautiful !

A few month ago, I met Alexandre to inquire about the launch of a French shoe label called Apologie. Artistic director Olivia Cognet is a decoration guru, cat-loving funny girl whose savoir-faire in the luxury footwear world and relentless energy gave birth to Apologie Paris. The shoe line is inspired by the Parisian garde-robe and wants to be creative and twisted. Most of the shoes are produced in Italy by reknowned artisans as you would expect with an artistic director who learned her job at Carven, Tara Jarmon, Sonia Rykiel and Thierry Mugler. With so much enthusiasm from me, you’d expect the line to be over-priced ? Well, you’re not even close ! Apologie is fun, chic, rather cute to the men’s eye and… acecssible ! Check out my favourite models of the FW2013 collection hereunder !

And just like that, you start wearing a suit five days a week and now you have to wear grown man shoes. You’re proud of you suit’s fit, comfortable in your shirt, dared the silk tie. You’re even wearing your favourite underwear… Great, but… what about those horrible worn out pieces of plastic you’re wearing on your feet? You don’t even notice. I do. Many do actually. The only solution for that is Hype Means Everything’s Ultimate Grown Man’s Guide To Shoes. 100% free. 100% necessary. 100% below.

The Crockett & Jones Langham is a classic tassel loafer with braided interlacing made from the finest calf leather and single leather soles. I like that the lacing is braided and I think that makes it a lot more classic, especially in black calf. I own the Cavendish from C&J in brown and I seriously consider buying a black pair of those lovely loafers.

I couldn’t think of a better match for our Shoe Porn section than those Casadei Pin-up heels ! This is litterally a pair inspired by the most famous pin-ups of the 1940s and 1950s such as Betty Grable, Norma Jean, and Betty Page ! The sexy curves are just a reminder of those ”feminine, romantic, sensual and enticing” decades. The Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection will be full of such erotic pumps ! That’s a great news !

I’m already a huge fan of Thom Browne‘s grained leather men’s wingtips but I confess I fall in love with those tricolored heels. I love how classy they are despite the poping yellow heel and the crisp white round toe! Brilliant work once again. The beige interior looks really nice and soft while the striped ribbon makes a statement. (shop)

Maison Martin Margiela’s SS12 runway was full of sheer light fabrics and I remember flashing on these leather-trimmed mesh and Perspex boots.  The cylindrical clear Perspex heel, the nude mesh upper has the very attitude we love with Margiela ! It has the label’s avant-garde but paradoxically some classicism too ! In store at Net-a-porter.

After a year of double monk orgy, I’m really keen on a new single monk pair. Unfortunately for my wallet, I favour the John Lobb Jermyn III. The updated buckle is the major change from the Jermyn II, which was discontinued several months ago.  The 7000 last is one of their most comfortable and nice looking last, keeping the shape classic, simple and elegant.

Kanye West renews his collaboration with Nike with the Nike Air Yeezy 2. Although I usually like retro Jordan sneakers (and I’m not a huge fan of recent Jordan releases), I really digg this futurist wolf grey and pale lime soled pair of shoes. They will be available on April 13 so you’d better start camping in front of a Nike store if you want to make sure you get one. Tomorrow will be to late already !
