I still don’t know a lot of things from new-born French fashion label Memento Clothing. But I know two things that I really like : first of all, they quote Theophilus London (« The Clothes don’t make the man, it’s the man that makes the clothes ») and secondly, Memento’s art director is no one else than Benjamin Memmi, Sandro’s former AD ! And God knows how much I’ve spent in Sandro pieces over the last few years. I was wearing one of their grey blazers yesterday ! From what I can see, the FW 2011 looks great BUT I kind of hate the finger rings on the model. It’s useless to me. French label Sandro has a gift for producing amazing lookbooks ! For FW2012, they present the collection with the model Anabel Van Toledo. I still don’t know if it is her eyes or the clothes but I really like this first peak at the collection. Classic dresses with white collars, wool sweaters with leather patches, tuxedo blazers and cigarette pants make the looks very classy. Maybe a bit too dressed-up but whatever. We, men, love it ! This summer, few options are sexier than a high-waisted denim short. Especially when it’s cut rather short ! The offerings are quite numerous but the best deals are the vintage shorts found in vintage shops. Otherwise you can still find some pretty cool among the ones listed after the break ! I’m glad to see that Sandro continues its good work now that it is part of the LVMH group. Even if the men collection isn’t as wonderful as the women’s one, the result is still very enthusiastic ! I love the denim shirts and I’m especially happy because the jackets, tops and suits are longer than last season, except for the pants… but I do like to see the ankles above pretty tassel loafers. I was upset a few months ago when I missed this lookbook that had accidently been leaked on various fashion blog and then removed. I can eventually enjoy the perfect summer looks – and the beautiful model ! The shooting à la Terry Richardson reveals amazing light dresses, shorts and cool cardigans. A lot of camel, dark blue and pink mixed with retro details like club collars, blue jean vests, loose cuts and floral prints.
