3X1 or the coolest denim factory in NYC

Top to bottom, the 3×1 NYC store is an actual homage to denim. This magnificent concept store, situated on Mercer Street, features a complete jean manufacturing facility ; beyond that it’s also a place to witness the intricacies of the process that goes into making 3×1 jeans. Praised by the Sartorialist (on his twitter account), this is a typical address in Manhattan you have to keep in mind if you want to get yourself a unique, bespoke pair of jeans! Depending on the cut, prices start from $360…Whatever?! We’re talking about denim: a timeless piece in your wardrobe!  Read the rest of this entry »

Supreme: Lead, Follow or get the fuck out of the way

Jake Davis describing Supreme: “It’s exotic, it’s exploration, it’s dangerous, it’s militant, it’s revolution, it’s travel, it’s youth… And has everything to do with the global world and nothing to do with the insular bubble that is downtown New York City… But at the same time it is so New York. It’s everything that New York represents… The clashing of cultures, the discordance of economic classes, the aspiration of something better, the melting pot of a heterogeneous society. This isn’t intellectualism of a brand. This is very real. And whether it’s thought out in design strategy or “just happens” you can’t deny its relevance. To simply call this “streetwear” and not significant cultural direction is laughable. The epitomical genius of Supreme is taking something classic like a camp cap and making it in an ikat fabrication.” That is so true!!! Enjoy the entire new line after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Introducing ONLY NY Inc.

With ONLY NY Inc., it’s all about celebrating the big apple. The collection makes me think about How to Make it in America. Designs are very simple yet quite refreshing. ONLY NY is an independent brand based out of the West side of Manhattan which arguably provides quality apparel while keeping the designs classic, somehow timeless but a tiny bit retro. Don’t be fooled, ONLY NY has been involved with NYC‘s underground street culture since 1997,  from years of skateboarding and graffiti, to sporting old school Polo and North Face, ONLY NY embodies the hood to Park Ave. and everything in between. Get an idea of the looks after the break ! Read the rest of this entry »

Manolo Costa : Bespoke tailoring from Madison Avenue

You may have already seen him on one of your favorite street style blogs, this guy’s name is Manolo Costa. His name then became his brand! A brand based on Madison Avenue (NYC) that fosters high elegance and luxury and promotes bespoke clothing for refined gentlemen. This is the place where you go get your exclusive bespoke tie to fit your Savile Row-made double-breasted suit!

Manola Costa once said about bespoke tailoring: ” The art of bespoke is in the details, where a dress shirt is cut so that every inch fits as it should and a pair of trousers are expertly tapered from the knee to create the perfect drape and balance.” Guys, I guess this is fashion poetry! He also got a nice tumblr if you want to check it out! Read the rest of this entry »

Boy by Band of Outsiders Pre-Fall 2012

I don’t get what “Pre-Fall” means and I’m afraid it may only respond to the “always more” principle that somehow rules fashion nowadays. Apart from that, I kind of like this vision of the modern New-Yorkish women. Nothing new obviously but still pretty good ! Nice job Scott Sternberg ! Read the rest of this entry »
