NEWS IN Kitsuné
They wanted a video to make a little buzz. So they picked Ashley Smith. They sent her to Palais Royal, check out some Kitsuné clothes. The video is neat, impeccable and very pleasant to the eye. So they did it. They created their buzz !
I shouldn’t have stop at Kitsuné‘s shop Rue de Richelieu in Paris last weekend. Everything there is so tempting. Look this shawl collar cardigan for example. You could chose dozens of other brands but unsurprisingly, Kitsuné makes THE one that is hard to resist to. Flawless with a cable knit body, crushed leather buttons and tight ribbing on the cuffs and waist. With a thick shawl collar, this golden brown (photo is unfair believe me) cardigan is definitely a winter essential. Wear as a jacket alternative now or underneath a winter coat when the mercury drops. Now you’re ready for winter. Read the rest of this entry »
A few months after the release of their debut album Native To on Kitsuné in June, IS TROPICAL are back with their new single “Lies” ! The track alone is really good already but goes even better with the video clip ! After the phenomenal success of “The Greeks” videoclip, this time they asked Jonathan Leder one of the founder of the best erotic & luxury magazine on earth, Jacques, to work on their new video. An amazing cocktail of pole dance, vultures, lust and sexiness mixed on electro ! Video after the break ! Read the rest of this entry »
Pursuing its inspiration from University campuses of America’s East Coast, our beloved french label Kitsuné brings this crew-neck graphic sweatshirt with a retro Parisian-inspired twisted print. From the graphic font alluding to a Parisian Metro sign, to the double length cuff and hem in soft washed cotton, this piece combines the splendour of Paris with the comfort of college sportswear. That’s precisely what Kitsuné does best ! I consider a quick purchase at the Parisian store but for the moment it is only available at Très Bien Shop for 190€, which is almost fair for Kitsuné. There is a special place in heaven for designers Masaya Kuroki and Gildas Loaëc for ruling the world season after season. While their music label is nowadays criticized for beeing too easy-listening or soft-electro, I feel like the fashion half of the French label Kitsuné goes the opposite way. For Spring/Summer 2012, the Hamptons inspiration is still there but the go-to-hell colors turned pastel and the 20s have replaced the 50s-60s. The collection is full of American style staples, from Ivy to Manhattan’s Mad Men. Pleated chinos in khaki or white, light cardigans and v-neck sweaters and the always impeccable button-down oxfords. I’m glad to see that they use my newly-acquired dual-tone suede loafers for the lookbook ! Rich Grandpa style that works properly for dressed-up summers. I love Kitsuné. Read the rest of this entry »
Kitsuné is doing a lot right these days. Case in point is this reedition of their loafer with J.M. Weston. A two-tone calfskin moccasin in grey and sand, representing the purest American “college” spirit.
This particular model is actually re-edited after last summer’s success. So if you missed it last year, you can still rush as early as April 29th either at the Kitsuné store rue de Richelieu, Paris or at J.M. Weston (be careful : Champs-Élysées and Bon Marché shops only) for the parisian and surely in selected stores worldwide. www.jmweston-invite.com is said to have them on April 26th. The model is Weston’s classic loafer on the 180 last. While J.M. Weston traditionally mounts its moccasins using Goodyear stitching, this design uses Blake stitching for a more flexible, relaxed shoe. As Hypebeast points out, Kitsuné founders Masaya Kuroki and Gildas Loaëc both have a taste for the timeless “preppy” style and its use of luxurious materials to create meticulous detail. The inspiration therefore comes from 1950s photos of American high society and their classy timeless essentials. Wear sockless all summer. Read the rest of this entry »
I just want one of these Kitsuné swin short so bad ! They are like perfect. I don’t know what else to say apart from technical details : elasticated waist with a white string and a single patch pocket on the rear. The Kitsuné fox logo pops on the left leg in the classic French red, white and blue. It’s made in Italy from 100% polyester. Blue, red, beige and mint green are available. Reminder : swim shorts can’t fall under your knee. It’s a generally admitted rule. Don’t forget it. Oki-ni has them.
As usual, Kitsuné teases its upcoming collection in a video teaser. Models Nane and Julien take part in the now famous battle presenting the new Kitsuné Fall-Winter 2011 collection with the audio tape being a teaser of their next mixtape Kitsuné Maison Compilation 11. It’s always a welcomed distraction!
