NEWS IN Céline
Eyewear designer to the rich and famous and Parisian artisan Alain Mikli is no stranger to high fashion, high profile design, but the designer’s SS13 line of women’s sunglasses takes on trend sunglasses to a whole new level. Mikli has been creating innovative and fashion forward eyewear for over 30 years. He rose to fame in the 80s when stars like Elton John began to sport his designs. Today, Mikli’s chic eyewear, which combines quality, style and functionality is worn by everyone from Beyoncé to Bono. It is actually Mikli who designed the iconic ‘shutter shades’ worn by Kanye West in his music video for “Stronger”. His latest collection nails just about every trend of the season. Here are our top picks from the new range and their corresponding trends, plus a less avant-garde alternative. Read the rest of this entry »
In the wake of Hermès’ collab with Comme des Garçons, here is another cool project: Paris-based Géométrik caps just released a bunch of limited edition caps made with Hermès and Céline silk scarves. A lil bit pricey though: 355€… (“used to be” available at Storm Fashion). Stay tuned for availability updates! Read the rest of this entry »
From fashionistas, to musicians (Tyga), and even regular sunglasses enthusiasts everyone and their mother was was looking for these Celine Chain Sunglasses. The Vintage Frames Company has just added the infamous Celine Chain Sunglasses to their sunglasses shop. To be quite honest, I have only ever seen two of these pair of Celine Chain Sunglasses ($3,900!!) in the media: one warn by Kim Kardashian, and the other by Tyga at the BET Awards last weekend (pic above). A little twist to the usual Céline minimalism with this Luggage Phantom bag. The tote is constructed mainly with one piece of leather making the bag lighter than its predecessor. What also makes Phantom new are the side straps that can be tied or buckled to make the bag less open. The inside the bag is fully lined with suede, so you always have the luxurious treatment on an already gorgeous bag. Read the rest of this entry »
When Givenchy and Celine set the trend…
This spring catchword is flower! After Givenchy and Celine being the precursors of that “floral print” trend (see the images of their pre-collections after the jump), everybody is now following them and trying to design an ersatz floral print collection… You don’t believe me? Then, just take a look at the “What’s new” category on Net-a-porter and see by yourself!!
The thing is now you can’t avoid this trend anymore : you want to be shot by a streetstyle photographer during the fashion week? Then, you have to get yourself a fashionable Givenchy-like floral print top or be even more daring and buy the skirt! What is more, even Supreme (the hottest brand on the market right now) made a collab with Schott, the iconic designer of perfecto jacket, to produce a leather jacket (see the pic below) with a floral print interior… Crazy one by the way!
Point made: floral print is (supposedly) DOPE! Up to you now to follow or not the trend… Read the rest of this entry »
The patchwork version of Céline Diamond Bag is a blast, a it-bag, a must-have, name it as you like! Once again this week, Phoebe Philo impressed us : throwing a wonderful (though really expensive – 1350€) touch of excentricity on the classic minimalist Celine SS2012 collection! No doubt that a promising future for all the “Made in Céline” products is still looming ahead! Bravo Ms Philo! Read the rest of this entry »
I know some girls who aren’t going to miss these Céline pumps when they hit the stores in the coming days ! Although they are available in all black suede goatskin, I really like the dualtone contrast, which to me highlights the perfect sole curve and platform look of the shoes. More colors available after the break ! Read the rest of this entry »
