A few weeks ago, John and I realised that we had never introduced you to French shoe maker Septième Largeur although we both own pairs from them that we wear all the time. John first bought a pair of burgundy double-monks a few years ago and had me buy the same pair in black. Since then, this is the pair I’ve worn the most. Why ? To put it simple, we believe this is the best price/quality ratio we’ve found. The durable leather, the engraved soles, the classic shapes and elegant lasts all contribute to the success of Septième Largeur since it was created in 2009 by Marcos Fernandez (who happens to be the guy behind Bowen, Emling and Markowski… just sayin’ !). He personally cares about all the design and draws the shoes himself. Check out some photos I did in their Parisian store near Saint-Lazare. Check out their online store!!

As I was wandering in Printemps Haussmann (Paris), I found out about the new pairs of boots and tassel loafer by LVMH brand Sandro (link). The thing is it looks exactly the same as Alden’s cordovan shoes: I can tell, I bought myself the Alden Cordovan Boots! This is just lame for a rising brand like Sandro to play it the fast-fashion way as Zara does!! I think I’m gonna be avoiding Sandro for a while…

Maison Martin Margiela’s SS12 runway was full of sheer light fabrics and I remember flashing on these leather-trimmed mesh and Perspex boots.  The cylindrical clear Perspex heel, the nude mesh upper has the very attitude we love with Margiela ! It has the label’s avant-garde but paradoxically some classicism too ! In store at Net-a-porter.

The new designer adulated by the dandies all around the world, Mark Mc Nairy, unveils its new collaboration; after Pro-Keds, DQM, Haven, or Timberland, it’s the turn of the Pharrell Williams‘ brand BBC (Billionaire Boys Club) to affix its signature on a Mc Nairy’s silhouette for a model both sober and original. I personally love Mark Mc Nairy’s colored imposing soles! Available here for only 500€…

It was really natural for Xavier Aubercy to take over the family business which is the Maison Aubercy, one of the most underrated made-to-measure house haven in the world. The shop hasn’t moved from the Rue Vivienne, Paris, since Xavier’s grand father founded Aubercy. Having grown up and after so many years gravitating in and around the family store, Xavier sort of always worked here. We had the incredible chance to chat with him to discover the rich history that defines the brand.

#Lusting after an unique pair of boots from Alden to warm up my feet during these frozen winter days… After their recent collab with Obscura we presented, Alden literally reinvents and epitomizes the cordovan boots! By virtue of their long experience, Alden stands as the acknowledged master in working and finishing this special leather into extraordinary footwear. The crafting of shoes from shell cordovan recalls, indeed depends on, shoemaking of the old school. I’m just crazy about them right now! Get to buy yours on Uppershoes.com!

I’m not usually a big fan of Chanel’s shoe lines (apart from their flats…) but this time, I was just amazed by this pair of “steel-toe” boots by the French house. Part of Chanel 2012 pre-fall collection, this pair of boots is a must-have for all the freak-style lovers out there!!  Seen on themanrepeller as well!

Yes, again. Another pair of Margiela shoe porn. Just an old piece of leather , a round toe, leather-lined heels and a thin curvy sole that duplicates the line of the feet. Gorgeous isn’t it ? I love the discrete signature stich under the zip.
