The californian-born surfer and photograph Leroy Grannis teams-up with Scott Sternberg’s label Band Of Outsiders to create these amazing “landscape polo shirts”. The retro inspiration is obvious since we haven’t seen much of landscape-printed shirts since the early 90s. The contrasted collar and sleeve border reinforce the vintage spirit while the price reflects the constering inflation and the heresy of a brand which could be the 2010s revelation if a little more reasonably priced. It’s one of the most beautiful and impressively cut piece I’ve seen in months. It’s also one of the least affordable and that makes me sad. Indeed, I’ve been looking for a blue double-breasted blazer for some time now and credible options aren’t numerous. Dries Van Noten’s surely count among the neatest blazers on the market and I still dream about a Brooks-Brothers I tried at the Parisian store. But none of them match this Band Of Outsiders navy linen-blend blazer. Golden buttons at the front, shoulders, back and sleeves, notched lapel, three flap pockets and a slit breast one, epaulettes and a double vent. Don’t worry, I know I already presented the Band Of Outsider collection. I just discovered this behind-the-scenes video from Highsnobiety. I also know that I repeat myself but Scott Sternberg is a real fashion genius. He’s the designer behind the cuts and style. When I think hype fashion, this is the first brand that comes to my mind : a young, updated, colorful america-inspired style !
