Hype Means Everything

The Carven 2011 Spring / Summer collection by Guillaume Henry is inspired by travel through countries like Ancient Greece, Egypt or South America. The Carven woman’s silhouette is “leggy with a pronounced waist”, that is very sexy to me. In the new collection, you’ll find a whole lot of little dresses, short shorts and awesome textured crossover skirts and sweaters like this one which I find superb ! The wool seems draped and knotted over the body. The choice of colors couldn’t be better. It’s just so student-boho chic and French. A bit like a Kitsuné one I noticed in the latter’s shop a few days ago. Available at Colette.fr (link), more pics after the jump!

Paul Labonté chose rap music as the subject for his fourth publication, “Photographs inspired by the rap music that once inspired me”. Photos from an exhibition that the artist showcased in 2008 are now gathered and published in this book. From the few pages I can see, I believe this book is amazing. Shots are really representative of the gangsta 90s in the US. Maybe they are too much and turn caricatural sometimes but still, shots are great. In the hereunder video interview, Labonte explains the choice to shoot scenes which faithfully portray those elements found in raps which he was most inspired by. Check the video interview and some shots after the break!

It’s been a long long time since the last time I needed a cool spot to rest and get something to eat in Paris. And now that I’m back from Istanbul and plan some shopping in the French capital, I started to look for a peaceful place. The thing is that I also wanted some sweets and didn’t want to go to the eternal Angelina. So I remembered I loved the Plaza Athénée inner patio when I once came there for lunch and then I discovered their Galerie des Gobelins, which is a peaceful and quiet gallery where you can eat small dishes and drink a huge variety of teas. Among the numerous desserts offered, you can get some of these amazing creations from Chief Christophe Michalak. I absolutely recommend everybody to rush there and try by themselves ! More photos after the break !
