Gaziano & Girling Regency Single Monk
The Gaziano & Girling Regency monk strap is a super-sleek and fucking elegant shoe that longs to be worn with grey pants. The tapered DG70 last gives this shoe a continental flair that is rather sage for G&G. This is a great shoe for business or casual wear. Reaches awesomeness in a tan/cognac calf and worn with a Naples blus suit. 2013 is the year of the single monk. Read the rest of this entry »
Edward Green Canterbury | Yes please !
Damn you Edward Green. Just when I think my weakness for upper-shoes has been cured, you come to me with that delicious pair of Canterbury and your famous chestnut calf ? Plus you know I can’t resist a sole like this. Oh and I’ve heard you can have them two-toned to look like the Great Gatsby ? Or rather like Nucky Thompson ? Don’t you dare draging me into you shop on boulevard Saint-Germain. Read the rest of this entry »
Introducing Septième Largeur Shoemaker
A few weeks ago, John and I realised that we had never introduced you to French shoe maker Septième Largeur although we both own pairs from them that we wear all the time. John first bought a pair of burgundy double-monks a few years ago and had me buy the same pair in black. Since then, this is the pair I’ve worn the most. Why ? To put it simple, we believe this is the best price/quality ratio we’ve found. The durable leather, the engraved soles, the classic shapes and elegant lasts all contribute to the success of Septième Largeur since it was created in 2009 by Marcos Fernandez (who happens to be the guy behind Bowen, Emling and Markowski… just sayin’ !). He personally cares about all the design and draws the shoes himself. Check out some photos I did in their Parisian store near Saint-Lazare. Check out their online store!! Well well well ! It’s time you start to endorse the Gatsby way-of-life before everyone else does with the expected release of the movie adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Those spectator shoes look absolutely amazing ! Spectator shoes date from the nineteenth century but really reached their climax during the 1920s and 1930s. Inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Leffot‘s collaboration with Alden is crisp and clean in burnished tan and white calfskin. A nice classic with loads of style ! You’re guaranteed to turn plenty of heads as quite the dandy in a pair these days ! Read the rest of this entry »
Sandro copies Alden Cordovan Shoes
As I was wandering in Printemps Haussmann (Paris), I found out about the new pairs of boots and tassel loafer by LVMH brand Sandro (link). The thing is it looks exactly the same as Alden’s cordovan shoes: I can tell, I bought myself the Alden Cordovan Boots! This is just lame for a rising brand like Sandro to play it the fast-fashion way as Zara does!! I think I’m gonna be avoiding Sandro for a while… Read the rest of this entry »

“Shoes that look like they’ve spent the last 6 months trekking through the Amazonian rainforest will not get you that promotion you’ve had your eye on, or the number of that supermodel you’ve been checking out from across the bar.” That being said, I’m sure you’ll finally read a proper how-to. HME reveals the step-by-step procedure and prevents the common mistakes. The method is approved by the board of the P.S.S.A. (Professional Shoe Shining Association) which I am the CEO of.
