Current Obsession : Goyard
Goyard, the luxurious Parisian luggage maker founded in 1853, somehow manages to stay hip. The monogramming is easy to spot but the custom made program will let you create the format and color scheme you want so that it’s unique. Their tote is one of the most fought for bags in the galaxy but I’d rather go for a large pouch / portfolio like the one hereabove. I simply fear going to the store because I know this could be potentially dangerous for my bank account. No need to say that they propose some amazing trunks too. Reminds me of The Darjeeling Limited ! I’m craving for one ! Read the rest of this entry »
Introducing Rubinacci Pocket Squares
Pocket squares are one of the most defining details for men. Although I don’t usually wear one, I like to know that I can put one of Rubinacci’s amazing pocket squares if needed. It’s a sort of safety net. I wouldn’t buy something else than a Rubinacci pocket square and I believe no one should. I mean they have no competition. Even Hermès pocket squares don’t look that good ! I just bought one of their five designs called the Victory which shows Nelson Admiral’s ship with the message “England expects that every man will do his duty.” For the story, the admiral was on a mission in Napoli during the Fall of 1793. On his trip, he met the wife of a British ambassador, Emma Lyon, with whom he had an intense sentimental relationship. The pocket square shows his ship off Napoli’s coast, surrounded by four Cupid angels. I believe you can’t go wrong with such handsome colorfoul patterns. You would have noticed that the center color is often different from the colors at the edges so that the pocket square matches quite easily all your suits ! I told you : they’re are perfect. Thom Browne White Wingtip Brogue
If you follow us just a lil bit, you must already know one of our favorite designers: Thom Browne. By the way, I hope you read our editorial about grown-up hipsters?
Remember we already presented you the black wingtip by Thom Browne in November, and we just couldn’t miss this unquestionably exclusive pair of white wingtip with micro sole (available on oki-ni)… Handmade in England, this classic wingtip brogue features a premium suede leather upper in bright white. Embracing the brand’s distinctly American aesthetic, the clean upper is goodyear welted to a lightweight micro-sole that is proudly produced in the brand’s red-white-and-blue color scheme. You’ll all recognize a signature piece through-and-through: the shoe is finished with the signature Thom Browne tricolor ribbon tab on the heel. Read the rest of this entry »
Tank Louis Cartier XL Slimline | Watch Alert
The Cartier Tank is already a huge favourite but I always felt like it was a bit small. The watch is an icon which has be worn for example by Muhammed Ali for many years. This year, Cartier introduces an entirely new case design for the Tank as well as a new model within the Louis Cartier family, the Louis Cartier Tank XL Slimline. That means you get a bigger watch but since it is slimer, you don’t lose any of its refinement and classy spirit. The original Tank Louis Cartier line was introduced in 1922 as “the ultimate watchmaker’s manifesto of elegance and timelessness.” For this new slimline, they put in Piaget’s fantastic 430 ultra-thin hand-wound movement. The Tank Louis Cartlier XL Slimline is available in pink gold on a brown alligator strap and is now the slimmest watch in the Cartier collection. The watch is supremely elegant, and perfectly executed. A $14,200 dream. Read the rest of this entry »
Hackett Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook
I was in London last week and I was so impressed by the way the guys were suited that I decided I’d take a look at Hackett’s latest drops for it is a reknown british house with a strong british identity. The suits themselves are great. Superb wool quality, very nice clim cut, awesome patterns etc… But I’m pretty intrigued with this lookbook for the upcoming SS 2012 collection. I feel like it’s very american in some ways and somehow outdated too. I mean fairisle ? Shawl collar cardigans ? Fortunately though, I digg the visible ankles, the white pants, the tassel loafers and the bucks. And the suits. What do you think ? Read the rest of this entry »
