Forget the SMS. So 2001. Forget BBM. So not-universal. Today you have to convert to a new religion called Facebook Messenger. It’s a new official app from Facebook and it’s really well thought : if your contacts have the app then they will receive your message as a Facebook inbox. If they don’t, they’ll receive your message as a normal text. As simple as that ! Everybody will agree that Facebook has really improved its messaging and chat services over the years by merging chat and messages into a unique mail-box. It turns out to be very practical. To me it is a cool app to wait until Apple’s iMessages that will come with iOS 5 in fall !

LaCie teams up once again with Porsche Design for the release of two new hard-drives with USB 3.0 capabilities. It’s not as fun as the Lenovo but to me, that’s the swellest blend of design and performance right now on the market. It has a very strong aluminium body and obviously all user-friendly softwares you can expect from LaCie. It comes in a mobile version (500 Go) and two desktop versions with 1 To or 2 To. Prices range from 110 € to 190 €.

What a masterpiece !! This is the Leica M9-P, a slightly modified version of the flagship M9 model from Leica. There isn’t a lot of technical improvements, the sensor, viewfinder, body… everything remains the same except for three minor updates : Leica’s famous red dot logo has been removed with branding placed on the top plate. Other changes include a Leather-like finish and the use of a sapphire crystal cover on the LCD monitor. The M9-P will come in either Leica’s classic silver chrome finish or in black.
