Le Dali restaurant serves the “best hamburger in the world” according to the New York Times
Why would you have a hamburger in a palace? Well, the hospitality is great, the service is amazing, the interior design is beyond reproach and, above all, the quality of food is breathtaking! Besides, this is just great to order a fat and tasty hamburger in your room from the hotel room service…
This week, the Saturday Night Dinner will then have to take place in Le Meurice‘s fleuron: Le Dali. It is not that we particularly love Philippe Starck (well we do, see last week Saturday Night place), but Le Dali has recently been revisited by Philippe Starck himself and his daughter, Ara Starck! The Starck gene must be hype then! Anyway, the gold and ochre hues will transport you to a captivating world of interpretations while being guided by the giant canvas (145 sqm) on the celling painted by Ara Starck.
Let’s talk about this Dali hamburger with homemade French fries!! Awarded with the price of the best hamburger in the world by the New York Times in 2008, chef Yannick Alléno is now considered as a worldwide specialist and stirs lust from all the neighbouring palace restaurants! The meat is delicious, the crispy buns bread and the cheese melt in the mouth… For info, it costs 36€!
Adam&Ève Hotel in Belek (Turkey): one of the most designed hotels in the world:
Rewarded 4 years in a row (2007-2010) with the World’s leading design hotel award, the Adam&Ève Hotel is a must-stay hotel!!! Situated in the Turkish province of Antalya, the multi-colored geometrical building of the Adam&Ève Hotel makes us think of the avant-gardist architecture we love. Among the amenities of this architectural success, you can count both the world’s longest bar (see the 96 meters of the bar after the jump) and a breathtaking 104-meter pool with an astonishing sea view. Not to forget the minimalist style of the rooms and suites!
I think I just found the best iPad case on the market ! It’s the Module iPad Multi Organizer by Porter ! It’s just perfectly crafted in leather and clean zips with plenty of pockets and the result is wonderful ! Porter’s motto is “heart and soul in every stitch” and this fine-crafted piece honours this credo perfectly ! It’s made in Japan in a soft, premium black leather and it’s sold at Oki-ni ! “The king is dead, long live the king”. Here the famous motto. As the years go by, the supreme and sacred title remains. It is etched in stone braving the dusty and corroding weight of time, ready for welcoming the new radiant chosen. HME is on the verge of celebrating a highly-exclusive coronation in a few days. Please don’t think about Union Jack, King Lear or Westminster Abbey. The throne is waiting on the other side of the Channel, in the very heart of the age-old French enemy, in Cognac.
When you allude to years of life, Louis XIII speaks multi-centuries line of descent. Louis XIII has been brilliantly ruling the Cognacs kingdom for decades and the dynasty is just about to welcome its new monarch with great pomp. The genuine epitome of the perfect breed by Rémy Martin. No more than the finest top-end masterpiece HME has unveiled to your bewitched eyes.
Louis XIII is synonymous with an “invitation au voyage”. Read the rest of this entry »

Le Kong (1st District Paris): one of the best restaurants to celebrate something or just have dinner with a date!
As you may have noticed, we’ve kept the same gastronomic influences with the Kong : the cuisine at the Kong is basically composed of French food cooked by French chef Richard Pommiès, and revisited by young Japanese chef Fumiko Kono. Located on the last level of the Kenzo tower (an Haussmann-style building), the Kong was actually designed by Philippe Starck and Laurent Taïeb to “embody the lasting struggle between the moderns and the classics, between the iconic geisha and the modern Kawaï”.
What we particularly appreciate is that the whole roof has been replaced by glass, giving an amazing view on the surrounding buildings and the Seine which is just a few meters away! Plus the Kong bar is one the ravest bars in town right now: so feel free to grab a cocktail before leaving the Kenzo tower. This is kitsch, this is hype, this is good!
We highly recommend their Chateaubriand steak with some tasty Kong-style French fries! Read the rest of this entry »
Last month, the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel has reopened. London’s heritage-hotel revival has eventually happened. It took 12 years for Marriott to restore the Victorian masterpiece. Throughout the century it was twice bombed and left to decay, poorly used in the 1960s as an office space and threatened with demolition in the 80s. This London 5-star hotel now features his old-time glorious gothic metalwork, gold leaf ceilings, hand-stenciled wall designs and the grand staircase, all beeing as dazzling as the day Queen Victoria opened the hotel in 1873. The design studio Manhattan Loft Corporation and Marriott have made it to keep the historical touch, which is the most important. To me, this is the most wonderful hotel that has ever opened, the precise type of hotel I’ve always been willing to go to, with that cosy lounge feel and majestic titanesque palace. A NEW CATEGORY on Hype Means Everything! You definitely love our sunday girls; yet, the thing is you’ll have to invite them out for dinner the night before, otherwise they won’t become your sunday girls!!
Hype Means Everything does the selection of hotspots for you: every saturday, we recommend you a nice, cosy and hype SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER place to have dinner!
The first Saturday Night Dinner place is the Thiou (click to see the info). Named after the chef’s family name, the Thiou is actually composed of 3 different venues in Paris: Le Thiou (7th district), Le Petit Thiou (7th district) and Le Comptoir du Thiou (8th district). Each of these venues offers more or less the same menu to its trendy clientele: in other words some classic and delicious thaï food mixed with some classics of the French cuisine.
To me, the Thiou is the one of the best French-style Asian gastronomy in Paris. I personally recommend the scampi mini-spring rolls (on the pic above) as an appetizer, then the Thiou‘s speciality, the Steak crying tiger with some sticky rice… Yummy!!
See other pics (meals and restaurants) after the break !!
