Introducing Maison Trudon
Back in 1643 in Paris, Trudon began as a greengrocer as well as a wax merchant. His son carried on the family business and became the royal wax manufacturer in 1719. The Maison Trudon thus prospered as a traditional and prestigious candle maker, producing for such names as Hermes, Guerlain and Dior. The house is now the oldest French manufacturer and produces candles of the best quality, achieving the perfect combination of wax quality and distinctive scents. Besides, everything they make is so beautiful, I’d just buy the whole shop everytime I set foot in the Parisian store located 78, rue de Seine 75006. With their wax busts, Cire Trudon has brought back to life the lovely tradition of wax sculptures to be collected rather than consumed : Marie-Antoinette, Napoleon, Alexandre, Louise and the Slave are amazing. I love their concept of stink bombs too : the actual great smelling stink bombs! Read the rest of this entry »

Paul Dupré-Lafon, Gentleman’s Valet 1935
Not so long ago I heard “I wanted to have sex. He told me let me put my shoe threes first”. This wasn’t me. But it could have been. Every man should have a valet de nuit. That’s the best thing that can happen to your suits. This one is the actual reason of this post. It was made in 1935 by Paul Dupré-Lafon, a French architect and art deco stamped designer. It was created for Hermès in ebonished wood with red Hermès stamped morocco leather. A chef d’oeuvre.
