eclair-de-genie-christmas-edition-4

How sensational are those limited edition éclairs from Parisian specialist L’Eclair de Genie??? A Mother Christmas printed caramel éclair? A black-on-black éclair with a galaxy print?? And you have to figure that it is as good as it looks… We bought 4 pieces the other day and they didn’t last more than 5 minutes although we were supposed to keep’em for dinner! Absolutely irresistible! There are two more Christmas creations that you can discover in-store but I dare you to try and resist and no try their permanent collection.

Hotel Prince de Galles Patio Restaurant Paris

Book a Table

A few months ago, we featured the reopening of Parisian palace Prince de Galles (a Starwood Hotel): an actual haven of peace just nearby noisy and congested Avenue des Champs Elysées. We then had the chance to go and have lunch at the Le Patio restaurant (see the pic above)… You cannot dream of a more peaceful place to have a nice brunch/lunch on a sunny Sunday! The staff always extends a warm welcome and the food is amazing: I particularly remember that amazing sea bream accompanied with some revisited mac&cheese (see below)… A real deliciousness!! I highly recommend you take your girlfriend there for lunch or even for a drink (great choice of wines by glass)…

I believe you all have a bit of sartorial knowledge by now so I won’t insult you writing “the 25 pieces of basic sartorial knowledge”. However, after being in the jury for my school’s recruitment interviews, I thought it might be useful to write down a few guidelines to step up from suit-up to elegance. I inserted in the post some inspiring shots from The Sartorialist and The Armoury so you have bold visual intel to be inspired !

Book a Table

A few days ago, I finally set foot inside Miss Ko, a recently opened bar/restaurant designed by Philippe Stark. I had heard so much about the place and I’ve gone by so many times that I still wonder why I’ve never gone before. Anyway, this time, I had a legitimate reason: I had to try their new Mojito Thaï! Let me say this first: I love mojitos. I know it’s pretty girly, I know some of you will stop reading this blog just because of that. I don’t care… Haha. Where was I? Miss Ko is actually a huge place, somewhere between a japanese canteen, a hip lounge and a chinese newsroom. I only went for the mojitos but I’m looking forward to having dinner there already… Check out some more photos after the break!

opel-test-drive-car-hypemeanseverything-19

Back in June, I had the chance to test much of Opel’s 2013 range of cars in Belgium. I drive an old Opel that doesn’t even have air conditioning at home so this test drive was for me the chance to appreciate how much Opel cars had evolved in just a few years. The main attraction of our trip was Opel’s new Cascada which is an athletic, glamorous, mid-size convertible. But that’s not the only fun we had: I was able to get my hands on Opel’s fully electric car the Ampera, the supercharged Insignia OPC as well as the 205 horsepower Astra… Check out all the cars below and see for yourself that rich equipment, fun driving and german quality can come at a very attractive price!

Blueberry Restaurant Paris Maki choice

Hidden in the middle of Saint-Germain district, Blueberry Restaurant is the typical Californian fusion food place where you can get imaginative makis you won’t get anywhere here. In these times of heat wave in Paris, Blueberry’s makis with fresh seafood products, sumptuous truffles and tasty citrus fruits will transcend you. Try the Iroquois (marinated beef, coriander, cucumber, sesame and piment d’espelette) or be more daring and order some exquisite Rackham le Rouge (tempura prawn, soy marinated tuna, truffle, cucumber, spicy mayonnaise, flying fish roe and chive)! To finish, we highly recommend the fresh Frisco (some sea bream (daurade) ceviche with cherry tomatoes and  sweet pepper into a maki)… Just a blast on your palate! It actually reminds me of a place we visited in Los Angeles during our road trip in the US (Yu N Mi). Check out all our pics after the break!

remy-martin-cognac-hypemeanseverything-68

Who knew Cognac was a town in the south west of France? Hum, not that many… I didn’t until the fine champagne cognac specialist Remy Martin invited us for a walk-through of their house a few days ago. I actually didn’t know much about cognac although I pride myself in knowing my liquors. Besides being a fantastic introduction to the fascinating world of cognac, this little press tour by Remy Martin showed us that people can still work with passion and care for a product that is too often associated with old-world prviledges and hip-hop video clips. In regard of that paradox, I was humbled by the kindness and enthusiasm of our hosts. Let me guide you through my learnings about cognac and introduce you to Remy Martin

Patty&Bun Burger London by HypeMeansEverything cover

Get off the tube at Bond Street station, go up on James Street until you see a queue in front of a small restaurant: that should be it, number 54: Patty&Bun, the tastiest burger in London to me. The first question that comes to mind then is: am I supposed to queue 30 to 45 minutes to get a burger? To that question, I can now answer: “Yes Sir!”. If you live in London or you’re just spending a weekend there, Patty&Bun is a must-go: the French fries are AMAZING (one of the best I’ve ever had actually), the chicken wings are breathtaking and obviously the burgers are just delicious (I recommend the Smokey Robinson)!! By the way, you can also avoid the queue by taking it away (here).

mercedes-benz-classe-e-amg-hypemeanseverything-28

Just as if our initial test drive of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class wasn’t enough to win us over, we headed to Spain for another test drive of the Coupé and convertible models of the E-Class range. Younger, more playful, just as luxurious and optimized as its older sister the saloon. I’d kill my banker right now if it’d help me get that nice looking piece of engineering. But I’d probably end up in jail before I can even sit behind the steering wheel… Anyway, check our full review of the beast after the break and enjoy the amazing photos!
