Summer Essential : The Go-to-Hell Pant

Make it pop ladies ! From the deep gorgeous red to the pale yellow, so-called go-to-hell pants definitely have to be in your summer rotation! But be careful : there is a major risk that you miss the shot. If you want to wear a bright pant, the rest of your outfit has to remain simple and not too eye-catching. That will make the difference. The inspiration rather comes from Mad Men than Gossip Girl. Actually, go-to-hell are born in the late 50s, a time when Catholics from the western world were proudly wearing the scarlet and purple. Such colors characterize the preppy look of the WASP. So you shouldn’t be afraid of beeing too preppy or too old-fashioned. Brooks Brothers and J. Press, founded in 1818 and 1902 respectively, have been the leading purveyors of the Ivy League Look for generations but you might still want something more modern. That’s why we are here : our selection is after the jump! Read the rest of this entry »

DRIES VAN NOTEN OR THE ART OF THE DOUBLE-BREASTED JACKET

When I think about the double-breasted jackets, a name directly comes to mind: Dries Van Noten.

Indeed, the double-breasted jacket has always been a major piece of the Belgian fashion designer’s men fashion shows. For instance, Dries Van Noten often revisits the regular version of the 6-button double-breasted jacket like in Spring 2009, Spring 2010 or even Fall 2010. Plus, he sometimes adds his Belgian touch, forged in the Royal Academy of Antwerp, onto creative 4-button or 8-button double-breasted jackets as he did it with verve for his last collection FW 2011 presented one month ago in Paris.

Click on the pic above to discover his talented work on this amazing and timeless jacket, which has become his!!
