Thomas Roussel and Yannick Grandjean are an exceptional duet, because it is a rare thing to meet classical musicians nurtured in club culture, musicians just as thrilled by post-romantics such as Chostakovitch, Stravinsky and Fauré among others as by Daft Punk’s “Homework” or Mirways’ “Disco science.

Lil Wayne just released the official video clip for his latest single “6’7′” featuring Cory Gunz. It’s directed by Hype Williams, and this is somehow a gangsta/hip-hop version of Inception since the actors reproduce some famous scenes of the Christopher Nolan hit, mixed with the rap essentials, that is gorgeous girls, tatoos and bling-bling. Recent weeks have been very poor in terms of dope music. As usual, DJ Mehdi is a sure choice and you can’t be upset with his EPs and mixtapes. The french webzine Abcdrduson dedicated to rap music has just released a mix full of french rap songs that all inspired DJ Mehdi’s creations. The line-up includes Booba, Rohff, 113 and all the expected big-names of the french rap industry completed with the Ed Banger dude’s own touch and interludes. When I started hearing Kid Sister’s tracks a few years ago, I wasn’t much enthusiastic about the the beats and the gangsta/hip-hop tainted electro. I must have changed or her style is maybe substantially different from what she used to offer because I really enjoyed this mixtape produced by the Fool’s Gold Records. Kid Sister finally unleashed a few days ago her much anticipated mixtape Kiss, Kiss, Kiss. It follows the release of “Kiss Kiss Kiss” single earlier last December with the help of producer Afrojack.
