CHAMPAGNE RUINART VISIONARY APP

Here it is. The new Ruinart iPad & iPhone application  has just been released this morning. Faithful to its status of the first established champagne house in 1729, Ruinart has been repeatedly and successfully tried to distance itself from other brands. Please consider it done with this revolutionary App that enables you to be your own guide down into its cellars, in a 360° interactive tour, 38 metres below the city of Reims ! Indeed, you can move about virtually in this imposing site which was dug out nearly 2000 years ago, and where the Maison Ruinart bottles now lie in peace.

To produce this virtual tour, it has been necessary to resort to highly technical methods, in particular reworking the cellar lighting so that the camera lens is able to capture details that only the naked eye can discern in the darkness. The filming offers a 360° view using the advanced technology of an immersive camera with several lenses. Once the application is downloaded onto your iPad and iPhone, the movements of the user are sensed by the equipment’s gyroscope (the accelerometer and compass on the iPad 1 and iPhone 3Gs). You only have to turn your devices in the desired direction (to the left, right, downwards and upwards) to travel through the Crayères as they wish.

While exploring you can discover the contents of the cellars using the touch screen on the iPad or iPhone. With just a gentle movement of the finger, the forward movement in the cellars stops and new suggestions for exploring appear, such as the House champagnes, naturally, the secrets of how they are made and also the history of the founders of the House. To complete the experience the voice of Frédéric Panaïotis, the Cellar Master, is there to give you a personal tour of the wines, their unique style and the emblematic Chardonnay which is the signature for all the House cuvées.
